I know that this is from several years ago – but I have actually been involved in a personal experiment of a similar nature this past week. I have been using an old Panasonic Slimline mono portable cassette recorder (from the 80s) in congress with a cassette tape adapter one would use to plug their portable music device into their cars cassette player. In this way – the Slimline becomes a guitar amp! It sounds deliciously lo-fi. Like music from the 70s coming through an old transistor radio. I have an idea to create a “practical” tremolo instead of buying a pedal! Basically a hacked together Leslie Cab – made from a panasonic portable.
Thank you for your comment, Joshua! Yes, meddling with these old things can sometimes yield very interesting results.
